THE GREAT STAFF



What Is A Great Staff?
A great staff is also known as a grand staff. It has eleven lines and ten spaces. E.g.


The great staff or the grand staff has eleven lines and ten spaces because it consists of two different staves with five lines and four spaces each. The treble staff and the bass staff are the two staves used to make a great staff and these two staves are joined together with a brace. E. G. 





There is a broken line in a great staff and the broken line in a great staff is called the "middle C'.

In a great staff or in music, the treble staff is used for notating high pitched sound while the bass staff is used to notate low pitched sound.

Sharp sign. 2. Flat sign. 3. Natural sign. These three music accidental can turn a pitch sharp, flat, or back to its natural state. - Sharp Sign : It is used to raise the value of a musical note or pitch by a semitone.  - Flat Sign : The flat sign is used to reduce the value of a pitch or musical not by a semitone. - Natural Sign : A natural sign is used to restore or bring back the value of a modified musical note back to its original position.

SOUND

What is sound?    Sound is a transmitted disturbance perceived by the ear. Sound is cause by vibration .  SOURCES OF SOUND Natural Source of sound : Natural sources of sounds are sounds produced by nature and not man made. Eg, human voice, thunder sound, rain, wind etc.  Artificial Source of sound :  Artificial sounds are man made sounds. Artificial sounds are produced or made by vibration of two objects.  EXAMPLES OF SOUND MAKING OBJECTS 1. Violin 2. Triangle 3. Woodblock 4. Table 5. Radio 6. Trumpet 7. Clarinet 8. Drum 9. Piano 10. Flute etc.
