What is rehearsal?
Rehearsal is a period in drama production where actors and actresses prepare their actions, movements and dialogues before presenting or performing in front of the audience. The rehearsal period is the period in which all drama personnel (actors, design and technical team) get them self fully prepared for a drama production. during this period, actors and all other drama personnel get in formations and instructions before performing in front of an audience.

STAGES OF DRAMA PRODUCTION
Reading: This is the stage of rehearsal where actors and actresses read and master their drama with the director for proper analysis and understanding. During the reading rehearsal, the director makes his vision for the play known to everyone.
Blocking: Blocking rehearsals involves the director giving the actors directives on on actions and movements on the stage. It is on of the most important aspect of a drama rehearsal process. Blocking involves knowing the divisions of the stage and how to move from one line of the script to another without altering the meaning.
Polishing: The polishing rehearsal is also called the "Run-through". It is the stage of rehearsal where actors are allowed to act the play from the beginning to the end with the aim of identifying and correcting or amending mistakes where necessary.
Dress and Technical Rehearsal: This is the final stage of a drama rehearsal where all necessary elements are added to rehearsal that has been on before. During the dress and technical rehearsal, the director sits and watch the rehearsal as if it was a real performance.
All elements of drama production such as lights, sound, costume, make-up etc is put into use.
