 What is choreography?

Choreography is the art the art of creating and arranging and organizing different dance moves into sequences and patterns that can be done to a specific song, beat, or melody. Choreography can also be referred to as the art or practice of designing choreographic sequences.

Help the students understand that choreography is important in dance because it helps enhances the beauty of the dance. 

Elements Of Choreography:

-          Time.                                          * Transition.                            

-          Energy.                                       * Sequence.

-          Space.                                         * Relationship.

-          Shapes.                                            * Partnering.

-          Action/movement.                          * Contrast.

-           Repetition.                             * Leading.


Types Of Choreography:

a.       Improvised choreography: This is a kind of dancers get a general guideline but can then interpret some of the movements themselves

b.      Planned choreography: Planned choreography is a kind of choreography dictated to dancers in specific detail.


What is dance?

Dance is the rhythmic movement of the body to music in time and space typically following a set sequence of steps.

Help the students understand that dance is a form of performing arts used for the purpose of expressing an idea or emotion, releasing energy, or taking delight in the movement itself.

EAR  TRAINING.  (MUSIC)

What is ear training?

Ear training is a period in music when musicians learn how to identify pitches, intervals, melody, chords, rhythms, solfeges, and other basic elements of music, solely by hearing.

Help the students understand that ear training is the process of developing your ear and listening skills for music and it is also called aural skills.

 Easy Ear Training Exercise:

-          Turn on the radio to a familiar tune.

-          Listen to the tune for a few minutes.

-          Master the melody and the lyrics.

-          Now turn off the radio.

-          Can you imagine hearing the melody in your head?

-          Now try to hum the melody out loud.


What is singing?   (MUSIC)

Singing is the art of producing of musical tones by means of the human voice.

Help the students understand that singing can also be defined as a music activity that involves performing songs or tunes by making musical sounds with the voice.

Types Of Singigng:

-          Solo singing.                                    

-          Duet singing.

-          Opera singing.

-          Choir singing.

Singing is important because it helps builds self-confidence, promotes self-esteem. It promotes social inclusion. It supports social skill development. It enables young people of different ages and abilities to come together successfully to create something special in the arts
