A RECORDER A recorder is a wood wind instrument of the western orchestra instrument. It is a woodwind instrument because it is made of wood. A recorder has seven holes in front of it, and one hole at the back covered with the left thumb. Each finger is assigned to a specific hole. The recorder makes sound when air is blown into it through the mouth piece and that’s why it is classified under the woodwind instrument of the western orchestra.
